Day 7 – I Am Leadershape

So its late. I’ve been typing a speech most of the night. I just took a shower. Yet somehow, despite my hatred of writing, its times like now I get the urge to write.

So much is happening! Normally I would happily go about my business, involved in everything I found of merit, and not think anything of it. Yet… After Leadershape, Its different. I see why I do what I do, theres a larger reason behind things.

Have I lost you yet? Kay. Leadershape was like opening the window before a sunrise youve never seen before. Everyone has told you that in the morning the sun rises, and you understood! To paraphrase Summer Glau in Firefly, “I understand, but I do not comprehend”. So your sitting there, your window open. Things are going just like any other day… But then it happens. The sun rises, and suddenly you comprehend what everyone was talking about.

Now that we’re clear (Pretend with me, kay?)….

Its all about the people around me. You people. You that I see every day, that I think about, that I spend time with and change with. You change me, and I change you .(Sorry about that. I cant help it.) Its you that I live for. So thanks, because without YOU I would be rather bland and an aimless wanderer. Aimless wandering is only fun for about five minutes, I imagine.

The future. Interesting concept, eh? Something is going to happen in an hour. Whatever I do could change that ’something’. You and I, hereon referred to as We, have the power to change things. But I’ve gotten off the subject again.

I once thought that ‘it’, whatever ‘it’ is, was about changing myself or even my surroundings. Work to better the school, better my grades, etc… etc… But nope. Its about We, and the Future. Mighty big pickin’s for We, eh? Oh well. We’ve dealt with things before, we’ll deal with them again.

So lets wrap this up. I dont think I really expressed what I’ve been thinking, but I expressed something. Have fun figuring out what. Consider it a challenge? Enjoy.

Hopefully everyone gets to see that sun rise on day seven. Its a wonderful thing.
