SGA Elections 2008

For those of you who don’t know, I’m actually supporting candidates this year!

I just got done browsing the Louisville Cardinal’s “picks” for the election and I am left with one resounding comment: Meh. (Or any other variant – blah,pfft,etc…)

So, here’s my picks. I completely ignore ’slates’ (I find slates bad for everyone, but thats a different post), so its coincidence if anyone below is on the same slate.

SGA President: Rudy Spencer
SGA EVP: Jamie Giles. I’ve personally worked with Jamie. She has the organizational skills and drive to be the EVP we need right now. In fact, I think this is perhaps the most important election of the year. Without a quality EVP who is willing to reach back out to the Council’s and get SGA working together in more than just one meeting a week, SGA will become more and more useless. Thus, this is the only position I’ll likely write much on.
SGA AVP: Ahmed Awadallah.
SGA SVP: I don’t feel like I’ve followed this race, or researched its candidates, enough to make a decision. Your judgment is as good as mine!

Speed School Senators:
Jody Heil & Adam Schworer
I contacted every candidate running for Speed Senator I could find, and these two were the only ones to respond. Sadly, nobody but Jody in this year’s election was previously involved in SSSC. Adam, in his response, explained a bit more of why and I’m certain he WILL be involved from now on, whether he’s elected or not. Not voting for these two is going to be a severe hit on Speed School. So do it!
