Travis Cook and his wife Dorothy live in Crestwood, KY – just outside Louisville. Travis started dancing around 2002 with the promise of great meals at dances and met Dorothy there just a few years later – she just couldn’t resist a blonde with a microphone! They both originally hail from the mountains of Eastern KY – Knott and Perry county, respectively.
Travis began calling shortly after learning to dance under the tutelage of Joe Lowe and became the club caller for the club in Hazard, KY, in 2004 until he left the mountains to attend the University of Louisville the following year. While not traveling much during his college years, Travis graduated in Fall 2010 and started calling actively again soon after. He was lucky enough to be mentored by Kenny Jarvis and Sparky Sparks in learning to dance and call Advanced and Challenge 1/2. Travis and Dorothy have two wonderful children who are now regular sights at local events – Thomas and Anna.
On top of a full time job in the healthcare technology sector, Travis is now blessed to travel all over the region calling through C1. He was honored to join the staff of Royal Records in 2021. Travis served as Vice Chairman – Squares for both the Evansville and Mobile National Square Dance Conventions and is proud to participate on the several conventions boards around the area.
