We’re thrilled to announce that the Midwest Square Dance Cruise is setting sail again in 2027! I’m honored to continue carrying the torch of this storied cruise tradition and keep things rocking!
This year we’re stepping aboard the Carnival Vista, sailing round-trip out of Port Canaveral (Cape Canaveral), Florida — an easy, breezy departure just up the coast from Orlando and the Space Coast, which makes it a great chance to build in a few extra days of Florida fun before or after we sail.
And what a route we have this time. We’re pointing the bow south toward the Caribbean’s “ABC islands,” with full days in Curaçao and Aruba — two of the most beautiful, sun-soaked ports in the Southern Caribbean. Curaçao greets you with the storybook-colorful Dutch waterfront of Willemstad, and Aruba serves up some of the finest beaches anywhere. On the way home, we’ll stop at Celebration Key — Carnival’s brand-new private destination on Grand Bahama, which only opened in the summer of 2025. It’s Carnival’s first island built from the ground up just for its guests, with a mile of white-sand beach, some of the largest freshwater lagoons in the Caribbean, and a pier the ship docks right up to, so there’s no tendering.
Best of all for us dancers: this itinerary gives us four full days at sea. As always, we intend at least 4 hours of dancing on every sea day and will also dance each port day the schedule allows — with some added dancing shoreside at our lovely ports of call and under the stars onboard, as weather and regulations allow anyhow!
